The book of Psalms is a collection of 150 Hebrew poems, songs, and prayers, often used in worship and expressing a wide range of human emotions. It's a diverse collection, with contributions from various authors, including King David, over a long period of Israel's history. The Psalms offer insights into God's character, the importance of prayer, and the experience of faith, both in joy and sorrow. Some of the Psalms contain prophecies about the Messiah, foreshadowing his role and suffering.
